The Closing of the Basketball Season
March 12, 2009 By Wayne McMaster of Options For Youth-Inland Empire
The Wolfpack boys basketball team had a rough start to the season by losing some close games, but they were able to finish on a three game winning streak, giving them a record of 4 wins and 5 losses. Their offense was led by David Ruiz who averaged 14.4 points per game and Orlando Teague who averaged 12 points per game. Brandon Brewer also received recognition for being the most improved player over the course of the season. However, their MVP went to Salvador Gomez who averaged over 10 rebounds and 6 points per game. The coaches also appreciated his positive leadership on and off the court. He never missed a practice, never missed a game, and turned in six packets per month to his teacher. Overall, it was another great season for the OFY Wolfpack and the coaches are looking forward to improving upon their success next year. |
